MANGAUNG offers the keen shopper a wide variety of shopping opportunities. The Sanlam Plaza and Middestad Centre in the Bloemfontein CBD house numerous chain and speciality stores, while street trader stalls are found in the thoroughfare east of Sanlam Plaza and Crossroads in Bloemfontein. At these stalls almost anything can be purchased, from fresh produce to African art and craft. The CBD offers ample parking provided by metered street parking and several affordable parking garages.

At the Waterfront, not far from the Bloemfontein CBD, a range of restaurants, cinemas and shops are situated adjacent to Loch Logan, a small artificial lake. An island in the lake offers braai facilities and picnic sites.

Mimosa Mall is a well-known and up market shopping mall on the western outskirts of the city centre. Several other shopping centres in MANGAUNG add variety to the shopping experience in the city. Numerous spaza shops and curio stalls throughout the city likewise provide a true African city atmosphere.
