Media Release: Official Re-Opening of Seisa Ramabodu Stadium

In its quest to continue to transform Sport and Recreation infrastructure landscape in the Free State province, the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation is proud to announce that it will officially re-open the newly constructed Seisa Ramabodu Stadium in Bloemfontein.

The Seisa Ramabodu Stadium has been developed to cater for the sporting needs of the entire Free State community. The stadium is built to host soccer matches and to cater for various needs of the community through its sophisticated new facilities. This 17 972 seat stadium will enable the Free State community to host large soccer matches, sport and cultural events.

On the day of the official re-opening of the stadium, the Department will also host a Walk from various locations to the stadium. Members of the community are urged to take part in this Walk which is organized as follows:

The Seisa Ramabodu Stadium will be re-opened as follows:

DATE: 21 October 2015
TIME: Opening Ceremony starts at 12:00 PM
VENUE: Seisa Ramabodu Stadium, Bloemfontein

The official opening programme will be followed by the first soccer match to take place at this newly-constructed Seisa Ramabodu Stadium between Bloemfontein Celtic and Mamelodi Sundowns. The kick-off for this match is at 19:30 PM.

Though tickets are available for free, members of the community are still urged to get tickets to this match for security purposes. Tickets for the Open Stands (13 300 seats) are available from outlets such as Elizabeth Street, Fish and Chip Bochabela, Elah Store Willows, RnB Motors Heidedal, Liquor Land Rocklands, Ulti Pay Waterfront, Shell Botshabelo, Papas Botshabelo, and Chencha in Botshabelo.

The Grand Stands (3 300 seats) have been reserved for Government and Bloemfontein Celtic Guests while the Suites (302 seats) will accommodate honored guests.
